Barbizon Testimonials Dear Barbizon Staff, "Regarding your student, and my daughter Megan, I wanted to share my observations with you on what Barbizon has provided her." "To say that Megan has bloomed over the course of your instruction would be an understatement. I have seen her confidence grow after each session. A drive and fire burns within her; goals have been set as a result. Plans for her future have now become a focal point of our conversation. You have given her tools that have allowed her to dream!" "I know that no guarantees exist in this program, nor should there be; however, I feel like she is better prepared to accept the challenges that life will present her in the upcoming teenage years. At this moment her focus is on becoming the best model/actor that she can be. I think that you have given her the chance to accomplish this." "Barbizon has been a tremendous asset to Megan's growth as a young adult. Your staff has been motivating, nurturing and fun! Megan enjoys learning and working with Miss Newport and the other students." "I wish to thank you for all of your work and I hope that Megan realizes her dreams and takes Barbizon along with her. Regardless, as a single mom I want to thank you personally for all that you have done for my daughter." Sincerely, Jane Summer School Student Mom, Aug. '08 Dear Becky, "Let me start off by saying how much my son, Gary Flowers, and I love Barbizon!!! Gary has learned so much under the leadership of Miss Grauer and other instructors there. Since attending Barbizon, Gary has a higher level of self-esteem and he loves being in front of the camera and a great audience! As a matter of fact, yesterday, he sang the National Anthem at the NIU vs UIC baseball game at the Kane County Cougar stadium. Prior to Barbizon, there is no way Gary would have done that!!! One of Gary's most memorable experiences thus far was attending his graduation showcase! He really worked the runway and said that he loved how the crowd responded to him. Although he is only 13, he is starting to get a feel for what this business is about and he is looking forward to learning more. Gary's next move is going to IMTA in New York!!! He is going into it with an open mind and just looking forward to the wonderful experience it will provide for him. If doors open up, then that will be a bonus!! I told him to do his best and then you can't worry about the rest!" "Thank you so much for your support and really taking Gary under your wing!! I would recommend Barbizon to anyone who is seriously interested in modeling and acting or simply interested in building their self-esteem and overcoming some of their fears, such as public speaking and having self-confidence!" Shelley D. Flowers-Smith Dear Mr. Nemes, "I just wanted to thank you for everything you have done for Breanna. From the moment we met you last summer to today, you have been incredibly supportive and encouraging of Breanna. You saw a gift in her that we didn't even know was there! Your team worked with her, coached her, encouraged her and guided her, which led to her winning the coveted title "Young Miss Actor 2008" as well as 5 other awards. IMTA was the most amazing week of Breanna's life and has radically changed her future! I think every kid on the planet would give their right arm to experience what we just have." "Thank you for helping Breanna's dreams come true and for giving her a platform to soar in the future. You are awesome!!!!!" Ashley Podgorski (mom of Breanna Podgorski, IMTA's "Young Miss Actor of 2008") "Barbizon and the wonderful staff including Ms. Anderson, Mr. Patton, Ms. Baker, Ms. Tasha and Mr. Nemes were all such a blessing to Taylor. Taylor started out with just a dream and with the help of Barbizon he is now living his dream. We have been very busy since IMTA 2007 New York. Taylor had the experience of a lifetime and so many doors where opened for him. After relocating to LA in September and signing with Steven Nash he is busy preparing for a lifetime in the acting and Film industry. He plans on attending LA film school and will never forget that it all started at Barbizon Modeling School. Taylor has made life long friends and has started his journey to become not only a successful actor and model but also a filmmaker." Sandy R Dear Ms. Newport, "It was a pleasure to meet with you last Saturday. I am very excited to have a chance to participate in local events to gain more experience towards developing my career. Thank you in advance for allowing me the opportunity to participate in the Barbizon Documentary. I am very eager and excited about this!" "Thank you again!" Melissa P Dear Samantha, "I want to thank you and all the models for your participation in our fashion show. The girls were absolutely wonderful. Please thank them for me, again. It's always a pleasure working with you. Please let us know if you have any feed back. Again, Thank you!" Sandy "P.S. Randahl was terrific helping us out with the girls!" "I just wanted you to know that Alyssa has her first paid photo shoot for a magazine next weekend in Florida. Michael Gaylord also told us that she is up for two more; one for a magazine we think in Florida and one for a swimsuit company in Mexico." Sandy L. in Illinois "Today I did a showroom for FENDI! Also, I'm in the April issue of Paper Magazine. I did a spread with 5 other girls and it was really fun...Talk to you soon!" Erica H. in Michigan "I BOOKED MY FIRST BIG JOB! I am going to be in the Shoot Down The Stars music video by Gym Class Heroes! The Gym Class Heroes are the ones who sing Cupids Chokehold. I am sooooooo excited! It is filming tomorrow! I miss you!" Kirby A. "I am writing you to let you know how impressed we are with Julie Hurt and her dedication to her class and her students. My 10-year old daughter, Brianna Weber, absolutely loves her. Brianna really didn't have anybody her age in the Fort Wayne class and I believe Ms. Hurt took her under her wing." "Brianna is also doing the IMTA classes and they overlap with her FW classes and Ms. Hurt has offered to assist Brianna in anything she misses in Chicago...Brianna is very excited about seeing Ms. Hurt more in Chicago too." "Her love for her job shines through to these kids and it's infectious. I am not sure you could ask more." Kris W. in Indiana "It was nice talking to you yesterday! This year I booked the Stained Glass World Singing Tour. Stained Glass World is a non-profit organization/tour/reality TVshow motivating teenagers to build self-esteem and giving them the resources to seek help. My episodes of "To Catch a Predator" are constantly running on NBC, MSNBC, and USA channels." Dani M. in Illinois "...I thank you so much for everything you have done to help me. I know I say it a lot but I wouldn't have gotten these chances and opportunities if you hadn't had so much faith in me. So a BIG thank you!! I hope everything is well with you and I hope I get a chance to see you soon. Please let me know if you are in New York anytime soon." Erica H. in Michigan "I just wanted to thank you for helping me proceed several steps closer to my dreams. You've guided me further in the past months more towards my goals than I ever thought anybody would. I can only hope you're next to me for even the longer stretches of the journey. I know a simple "thank you" can't express a fraction of my appreciation, but for now it's the least I can do." Patrick T. in Illinois "...We can't think of anyone else that has invested time, loads of money, and support toward believing in us than you Mr. Nemes. You are in many ways our idol and hero. You made it all happen for us at IMTA by investing in us and making connections for us. We speak about you around our home and with our friends all the time. You are a superhero in our lives!" "We love you and will never, ever be able to thank you enough for EVERYTHING you did for us." Greg, Jeff, and Charles J. "Thank you so much for all that you've taught me, I really appreciate it. I hope that after I graduate, Barbizon will keep in touch." Jess L. "Just wanted to let you know how wonderful the final runway show was from the audience view. Those girls really did transform once they got on the runway. Earlier we saw the girls in their blue jeans and tank tops looking very average, nothing special. But wow!! The first time I saw my daughter come out on the runway I couldn't believe it was her!! I'd seen her wear those outfits before but it was like I was seeing them for the first time when she was on that runway." "She had a new attitude and self confidence that really sold those outfits. I don't know why we do this... but we feel that what you wear makes you who you are and so when we see those kids on the runway, with their self-assurance, we assume it must be what they are wearing. You really made those students look like professionals. What you have given them they can take wherever they go and use in whatever they choose to pursue. Let's hope they realize the "gift" you have taught them and that all the students use it to their full potential throughout their life. It really was an amazing show!! You shine :)" Mary K. "I hope you're having a great day! Just letting you know I did five shows at Elle Fashion Show this weekend, they went great!" "My last show was February 24, 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand at Fashion Week 2007!" Courtney G. in Illinois "It was GREAT to talk with you yesterday, it was long over due. I promise to send you off the 8x10 of Heather soon. Heather is at NBC-Universal Studios right now filming the last day of Ghost Whisperer. Her character name is Julie Parker as a stand in and a photo double for the guest star Jenna Boyd. You would be so proud of her, she BEAMS of confidence!!" "She will never forget where she started on this journey, BARBIZON!! Heather is a fighter and will survive the industry; the lyrics in her song prove it!" Kathy A. in Wisconsin "I had a blast at IMTA! The highlights of my week were definitely the Talent Showcase, which was so much fun to watch, and the Talent & All That Jazz night. IMTA was a great experience and I wouldn't have changed a single thing about it. If I had to give advice to future IMTA-goers, I would tell them to do the one thing that I would have done differently. Enter every competition that you can. It gives you so much more exposure, and you'll have a blast with it. Good Luck!" Ella "Barbizon has helped me in every way I can think of! I am more elegant and lady-like. I actually stand up straight now, and I am finally happy with myself." Stephanie "Barbizon has given me the self-confidence I have been looking for and in such a good amount of time. It has improved my attitude and I believe in myself more than ever!" Kaitlyn "I learned that beautiful doesn't come from clothes or make-up but by being confident about yourself. I learned that I should not focus on my negatives but more on my positives and just be myself. Everyone is different." Nancy "I feel much more in touch with who I am. I am no longer taking things as personal as before. I think I've become much more in touch with my style. My mom says I take better care of myself and I actually learned that I can do everything." Sarah "As you know, Kiki was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma on January 23, 2006. It was a very painful time, both emotionally and physically for all who know her...She now stands proud of her baldness and knows that her beauty within is of much more meaning." "She is a one year survivor now and cancer free with her future to look forward to. It was all the good times we enjoyed that we would speak about to lift her spirits, and her time at Barbizon was up there with having the special attention of all the Princesses at the Castle in Disney World." "Kiki enjoyed the visit at Barbizon and is looking to refresh her modeling techniques soon when her hair grows out a little more." "Thank you for your prayers and comfort at a very low time in my life." Wanda M. in Illinois "...Well it's been awhile since we talked. I just wanted to tell you that I have had a few jobs and I shot for Harper's Bazaar for beauty and I shot for Paragon and Emporium magazine. But the best part is that I shot the cover for Emporium magazine! Lets hope that many more jobs come my way...I will talk to you later." Stephanie "I loved IMTA!! It was the best & I will never forget it. In addition, IMTA was the best experience I could ever wish for (which is very hard)!" Trupti "Thank you for your participation in the Chicago Living Pavilion at the 20th Annual Taste of Chicago. The four Barbizon fashion shows drew the biggest crowds at the stage over the full 10 days. The shows were lively and entertaining . It probably wasn't easy for you to coordinate the entire program after being put in charge at the last minute. You did a great job. As emcee, you kept the audience entertained between sets." "Good luck in your future endeavors. Enjoy the rest of the summer." Erin M. "I had to write and tell you how extraordinary you and your models were at our fashion show. Your commentary was lively, informative and fun, exactly what I wanted! I received a lot of feedback from the attendees about you and your emcee capabilities." "Your Barbizon models were punctual, professional and beautiful. These ladies are representatives of the Barbizon legacy and they did not disappoint! The girls moved extremely well on the runway and really sold the Doris Ruth line to the audience." "Thank you again for your support and participation." Kristy B. "I am writing this letter to recognize the outstanding job that Samantha Newport does for Barbizon. ...Samantha was very kind and friendly and Megan enjoyed everything she learned from her." "We attended the fashion show at the "Taste of Chicago" and I was so impressed with the patience and care that Ms. Newport displayed with the students. I am writing to say thank you for employing such a dedicated person." Rebecca & Tom M. in Illinois "I just wanted to thank you for all of the amazing things I learned at Barbizon. I have so many great memories to cherish because of the opportunity that I got. Barbizon was such a gift, and you were a huge part of it. Without you, none of this could've ever happened." Melissa W. in Wisconsin "Thanks so much for all that you did to help me, and all the other students. I cannot wait to start modeling and acting! The show was a great success, everyone did great! Once again, thank you so very much for all that you did for me, and to make the show a success." Kira N. in Wisconsin "A special thanks to the IMTA staff and especially Mr. Nemes, Ms. Anderson and Mr. Mattix for going above and beyond. We appreciate all your hard work and passion you have for this industry and your students, it really shows." "The passion her instructors had taught her a great deal about herself and I could see her confidence soar. My daughter Jenny could not have gotten such a positive response without the help of Mr. Mattix and the IMTA staff." Donna J. in Illinois "It was so exciting to watch you take these young kids, teach them, train them, and then have them performing as well as they did. It was exciting to be at the awards ceremony and see how often our groups of kids were mentioned for awards." "Again, thanks so much for all the wonderful things you do and did for both my daughter and all the kids that go through your program. I would be the first to highly recommend your school to anyone that thought their son or daughter is the least interested in modeling and/or talent." Colleen R. in Illinois "It may not have seemed like a big deal to you, but it was to me. A big thank you to Miss Newport and Barbizon School of Modeling." Ann F. in Michigan "My daughter Rachel has been involved in Barbizon's program for just a few days and I can't tell you how much she has flourished as a young woman! Rachel is 11 years old and already she is more responsible and more aware of herself and others. As an over-protective parent, I was concerned early on, but the teachers at Barbizon encourage the great morals in your child--not take the place of a parent. You can really tell that the instructors love their job. Thank you so much Barbizon!" T. B. in Michigan "Again, THANK YOU for all your hard work! We so very much appreciate all your efforts, time and dedication, as well as your expertise in enlightening and enabling your students. What a gift you have given them! You have been such a huge blessing for Annemarie and for us and, clearly, for all the others whose lives you touch. I'm sure it must be rewarding and fulfilling to have such a positive, profound effect on so many wonderful kids. I, personally, become stressed out just thinking of all the time, energy and effort you put into your work for the sake of these kids. I am choked up writing this e-mail to you, just thinking about what you are able to give to others! You should be on Oprah! I can't express the appreciation I feel for you. Please know that it is very great and sincere! Thank you again for everything!" Carol F. "Your organization is a class act and we are thrilled to be associated with you! We wish you nothing but the best as you continue to discover and develop the best and brightest future stars." "As an update, Jeff is doing Disney's Haversham Hall, has finished his Jack in the Box commercial and is booked into next year." Laurie and Jeff B. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for the amazing job you do. The support and coaching that was provided for our daughter was top notch. During auditions, it was obvious to all who watched, as the children competed, that the students from your school were the best prepared and most confident. During auditions, several scripts were handed to my daughter. She was able to access help every time she needed it, day or night. Having the extra support made it easier for her to do the best job possible." "The extra opportunities provided by you, gave the Barbizon kids a marked advantage over all the other kids at the auditions. Your personal relationships with the agents and mangers went a long way in giving or daughter an edge. Being affiliated with your school does have an impact. Because of the nature of this industry, it might have been easy to find rivalries and pettiness; however, that was not the case. The Barbizon classmates made it clear from the beginning that they were there for each other. Everyday they seemed to get closer and become more united. As they interacted with each other and staff, you could see genuine caring and support. This had to be initiated and fostered by the staff leading the group. The professionalism and caring showed at every turn made it successful for all involved. Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude for all your hard work. We feel very fortunate to have had the chance to work with all of you." Ron & Patti C. "I want to thank you so much for the experience of a lifetime. I had so much fun that I was sorry when it ended. Please tell everyone at Barbizon that it was great to meet and work with all of you. I love you all! You told us that you could only open the door for us, make sure we were well prepared, and give us the opportunities and the rest was up to us. Well, I'm writing to tell you that I'm already taking advantage of all those opportunities and am looking forward to seeing just how far I can go in this industry." Beth C. "I want to say thank you for everything that you have done for me. Barbizon is an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Even if nothing else happens for me, I wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything in the world. The people I have met through Barbizon have helped me to grow as a person and expand my life to places I never thought possible. None of this would have been possible without you. Thank you a million times!" Michelle C. "Sarah really enjoyed her experience with Barbizon. Thank you for the work and attention you have provided in helping Sarah to achieve and have this opportunity. Thank you for giving her the skills and direction to try and follow a dream." Mike S. |
